Its Friday and its holiday in Bangladesh. The crowd will be coming in large numbers and what could be better as the home team will be facing the blistering Dhaka Dynamites.
The other day at the Sylhet International Cricket Stadium, Dhaka Dynamites tasted their maiden defeat of this edition’s Bangladesh Premier League against Rajshahi Kings, led by Mehidy Hasan Miraz. However, Shakib Al Hasan’s men remained at the top of the table courtesy of their stupendous start to the T20 extravaganza. Their next match is against Sylhet Sixers in the latter’s own home ground.
The Sixers won their last match against defending champions Rangpur Riders, but they don’t have much room for error by any means as despite the thumping win last night, David Warner’s team is at the sixth position of the points table. Last time around when these two teams met, the Dynamites won by 32 runs and the table toppers would be keen to get back their winning momentum, winning the encounter.
Liton Das and David Warner played some magnificent shots and scored runs at a great pace. Their bowling although have looked poor in patches but they clinged on. Dhaka don’t have many problems and they would like to get back to winning ways. Russell and Shakib need to be scoring runs for the team.
warner had some discomfort in his elbow but he is expected to play. He will.fly to Australia later on 21st. No.other changes should be made.
Hazratullah Zazai, Sunil Narine, Rony Talukdar, Shakib Al Hasan (C), Kieron Pollard, Andre Russell, Naim Sheikh, Nurul Hasan (wk), Rubel Hossain, Asif Hasan, Aliss Islam
Liton Das, Sabbir Rahman, David Warner (C), Nicholas Pooran, Afif Hossain, Jaker Ali (wk), Alok Kapali, Sohail Tanvir, Sandeep Lamichhane, Taskin Ahmed, Mahedi Hasan Rana
Weather- The atmosphere would be chilly but not that much as it will be noon. After 1st innings it will get colder.
Ground and pitch- The afternoon matches in Sylhet have turned out to be low-scoring affairs thus far. The pitch has tended to deteriorate to a significant extent in the second innings. Hence, it won’t be much of a surprise if the teams opt to bat first after winning the toss. Spinners are again expected to play a massive part. The Sixers will also play their first match in Sylhet this season under the natural lights.
Toss- Teams generally choose to bowl but here batting first can be a good option. Second innings batting becomes tough.
Prediction- Dhaka will be very much favorite, Sylhet have played well last match but after losing Dhaka will be very hard to beat this time.
