Series: Big Bash League 2018-19
Match: 8th match
Date:   24th December 2018, Monday.
Time:  7.15 PM (Local time)
Venue: Sydney Showground Stadium, Sydney.

Preview:

Christmas eve will be on just after the match with vacation being started. A win will give the teams a pleasant vacation and history shows on Christmas Eve matches have produced a real thriller for the spectators. So a thrilling Monday (not boring :p) on the cards tomorrow.

The match itself will be attractive for one more reason is that its a derby match. The crosstown rivals will take on each other for the first time this season. Buttler vs Denly, Root vs Hughes, Jordan silk vs ferguson will be a show to watch. The Thunder side have won a comfortable match despite rains impediment and Sixers took down Perth scorchers courtesy of Jordan Silks brilliant innings. So both the side are comfortably sitting on the points table.

Thunder side is stronger on paper than Sixers. Watto, Callum, Buttler,Root are experienced name than Denly, Moises. But the game is not played on paper and we can expect a thriller. Bowling wise both the teams have offie and leggie and teams are matched on seam bowling equally. Tom curran, Sean Abbott, Dwarsuish make a formidable combo and to counter that Thunders have Daniel Sams, Sandhu, Nathan McAndrew. You can not choose one combo over the other. Abbott had a good game against perth while Sams have shown his dashing batting with pacy seam bowling. A good score on the board will be very crucial for either of the sides.

Team news-
A bad news to start with for sixers as their captain Moises Henriques has to pass a late fitness test before the match,he sustained a calf injury in the Perth match. But the coach is hopeful he will play. Thunders don’t have anything to worry about and should field an unchanged side. Although they have brought rookie Matthew Gilkes in place of Arjun Nair who is injured. But to get a place in the XI for him is highly unlikely.

Sydney Thunder-
Shane Watson, Jos Buttler, Joe root, Callum Ferguson, Jason Sangha,Chris green, Gurinder Sandhu, Fawad Ahmed, Daniel sams, Sam Rainbird, Nathan McAndrew

Sydney Sixers-
Daniel Hughes, Joe Denly, Jack Edwards, Sean Abbott, Steve O Keefe, Jordan silk, Moises Henriques, Lloyd Pope, Ben Dwarsuish, Josh Philippe, Tom Curran.

Weather- Forecast shows on a pleasant Christmas eve the rain is staying away and will give us a chance to witness the match full.

Ground- The Ground is not that big but the pitch has been a little low. 150-65 is the score we should expect. But With firepowers in batting it could be well above that.

Toss- Team might bat first but chasing is not that bad either on this ground. 180 has also been chased here recently so Big scores will provide thrillers rather than one-sided game.

Prediction- Keeping the team combination in mind we think Sydney Thunder is the team that should win the match. Their top 3 is in form and bowling is very tight. So Thunder is the team we predict to win.
