Series : Big Bash League 2018-19
Match- 45th Match
Date- 29th January 2019,Tuesday
time: 7PM Local Time
Venue: Sydney Showground Stadium, Sydney.
The Sydney Sixers are currently placed in the second position of the points table in this edition’s Big Bash League . Another victory would virtually seal them a place in the next round. They thumped table toppers Hobart Hurricanes by nine wickets and must be brimming with confidence ahead of their next match against Adelaide Strikers at the renowned Sydney Cricket Ground.
The Strikers, on the other hand, are precariously placed at the bottom half of the table with four victories from 10 matches. With four matches left, the team needs to pull a rabbit out of the hat to get themselves moving up the points table. Last time around, the defending champions lost against Melbourne Stars by 44 runs and don’t look into the greatest of shapes by any means.
Josh Philippe and James Vince will be back in action after the sizzling performances against the Hurricanes. Daniel Hughes, Jordan Silk, Moises Henriques will be the important men in the batting line-up. Moreover,in our expert cricket tips there are plenty of options available in the bowling department as well. Jack Edwards and Mickey Edwards are expected to continue to warm the bench.
Predicted XI: Josh Philippe (wk), Daniel Hughes, James Vince, Moises Henriques, Jordan Silk, Tom Curran, Sean Abbott, Steve O’Keefe, Lloyd Pope, Ben Dwarshius, Ben Maneti.
The defending champions Adelaide Strikers have got some of the finest match-winners in their side. Yet, they’ve failed to create an impact in the tournament. It is important for players like Alex Carey, Jake Weatherald, Colin Ingram and Rashid Khan to perform collectively as a unit. Peter Siddle is back joining the squad and might get to replace one of Ben Laughlin or Liam O’Connor. Also,in our cricket tips there will also be thought about bringing Cameron Valente in place of Jon Wells.
Predicted XI: Alex Carey (wk), Jake Weatherald, Jake Lehmann, Colin Ingram (c), Jonathan Wells, Matthew Short, Michael Neser, Rashid Khan, Ben Laughlin, Liam O’Connor/Peter Siddle, Billy Stanlake.
Ground and Conditions- The Sydney pitch has got something on offer for everyone. Once you are settled in as a batsman, you can get those big scores. But, the ball also tends to hold up on the pitch at times which makes score-making difficult. Also, there is enough assistance for the spinners as well. There is a high amount of humidity predicted during the match time.
In our cricket tips the surface might assist the batsmen under the lights. However, the extremely strong winds that are predicted to blow around might have something to offer for the bowlers.
toss- Bowling first would be a good option and both the teams would try to do that. Chances are higher batting 2nd.
Prediction- Sydney Sixers would be the favourite going into this match. We expect them to win and go up the table.
