Series: Women Big Bash League.
Match: 33rd match.
Date: 29th December 2018, Saturday.
Time: 10.00 AM Local Time.
Venue: Lilac Hill Park, Perth.
The league games almost coming to an end with two teams comfortably sitting at the top. One of them is Sydney Thunder, Perth is not behind by much. So an interesting clash lies ahead tomorrow.
Perth lost their match last time against Brisbane with scoring 136 batting first. They faced the biggest problem this season of consuming too many balls and later big hits only without milking singles. On the other hand Sydney Thunder are 2nd on the table with 12 points but they have played only 7 matches. A win tomorrow will take them to the top.
Thunder side have many dangerous players, specially Harmanpreet Kaur. The Indian t20i captain has hitting capabilities like no one. She can hit a good ball for six easily. Besides her Stefanie Taylor the Windies women captain has shown her all rounding capabilities. They have Rachel Haynes and Naomi Stalenburg to support them well. It looks like they are the team that will lift the trophy.
Perth side are heavily dependant on Meg Lanning and Elyse Villaini and that’s hurting them very badly. If the duo fails then Perth doesn’t have the players to capitalize even if they have some big names in their side. If they want to win tomorrow and place them on the top half of the table then they must counter fire with fire. Good bowling is needed with a blistering start at the top.
No changes made from the last game they played so it’s pretty obvious that both the sides will field the strongest lineup.
Elyse Villaini, Meg Lanning, Chloe Piparo, Kate Cross, Heather Graham, Nicole Bolton, Emma King, Lauren Ebsary, Amy Jones, taneale Peschel, Hayleigh Brennan.
Sydney Thunder –
Rachel Haynes, Rachel priest,Harmanpreet Kaur, Stefanie Taylor, Naomi Stalenberg, Nicola Carey, rene Farrell, Samantha Bates, Lisa Griffiths, Blackwell,Maisy Gibson.
Weather- A hot and Humid day for tomorrow with no chance of rain. The match will be on noon time so the heats will make the Fielding side suffer a lil bit.
Ground- Ground is not that big but the pitch will.definitely be seam friendly. New bowl bowlers will get swing and batters have to play carefully at the start.
Toss- Teams winning the toss would definitely bowl to have the best opportunity of new surface. But scoring around 160 should be very competitive here, even 150 could be enough on this pitch.
Prediction- Thunders are playing some very good cricket at the moment and its hard to see them lose tomorrow. We predict the Thunders might be the winner against Perth side who are not very confident at the moment.
