Series: Big Bash League 2018-19
Match: 29th Match
Date: 13th January 2019,Sunday
Time: 6.35 Local Time
Venue: Geelong Stadium, Geelong.
Both the teams faced each other in their last match and and Renegades with literary help from the heats got the win. They are facing each other again in a relay match and it will be interesting to see what type of counter attack The Heats provide.
Renegades although won a comfortable game in paper but the match actually wasn’t like that. The Heats dropped as many as 5 catches and that hurt them big. The Heats have another bad news as James Pattinson is done for the whole season as he has a muscle injury. Now they will have to rely on Lalor and New bowler Prestwidge for the seam attack.Joe burns has been dropped with alex Ross in contention. Also Marnus Labuschagne is back for them. Over all they will have to leave aside the mental pressure and come to the field to save their spot in the tournament.
Renegades will be happy with their batting department as of now. Cameron White is back again and so is Marcus Harris. Tom cooper showed some form in the last match. But their international recruit Usman Khan who has been a great man for them is away for one day matches against South Africa. Harry Gurney will be his replacement. Kane Richardson is injured too. But the batting looks solid and thay will be a relief.
In the last five matches or should I say last 7 matches Brisbane Heat haven’t won against Melbourne renegades. That a real surprise as no teams have these many matches winning streak against any other sides.
Team news- Some here and there changes for both the sides and we have short listed a potential XI for the sides.
Melbourne Renegades –
Marcus Harris, Mckanzey Harvey, Sam Harper, Harry Gurney, Tom Cooper, Mohammad Nabi, Jack Wildermuth, Cameron Boyce, Dan Christian, Cameron White,Joe Mennie
Chriss Lynn, Brendon McCullum, Ben Cutting, Jack Prestwidge, Brendan Doggett, Josh Lalor, Mijeeb ur Rehman,Jimmy Peirson,Marnus Labuschagne, Max Bryant, Matt renshaw.
Weather- 0% chance for rains in Geelong and a pleasant weather ahead. But some dew might come. Temperature should be around 20℃
Ground- The ground is not known for big scores and the outfield is very slow. Scores of 160 would be very difficult to chase here. The pitch is very tacky.
Toss- teams would tend to bat 1st here as the pitch is slow. Previously 150+ scores was chased only two times.
Prediction – Its a close encounter but Brisbane will be the weaker side. Melbourne should win it. Although its a very much 55-45 match, Renegades is favourite.
