Strings of low scoring games but still providing thrillers this has been the trend of this Big bash. Renegades and Strikers are taking the field with same amount of points on the table. The Melbourne side will host the Adelaide side in a new stadium in Geelong.
Renegades after two consecutive wins faced two losses. Both the time they failed with the bat with the top order not firing at all.Senior players Cooper and white have a string of poor scores and that are hurting them big. Scores of 99 and 132 in the last two games show their instability. They need runs from the batsmen because bowlers are doing very good for them. Christian and Nabi are the two performers they can rely but others need to step up. Usman is the other player that has given them some good performances.
Adelaide after two loss won the last match against Thunders. Rashid despite losing his father the previous day played the match and bowled a decent spell. Siddle is the best performer for them as he played two and bowled really well in both the matches. But he will not be there tomorrow. Valente will replace him. Their top three are scoring runs consistently but middle order scoring very slow and not consistent at all. Matt Short and Lehmann are capable of big hitting but played a surprisingly slow innings in last match. It almost costed them the match. So confidence will be a key for them.
Joe mennie has been called in the Renegades side in place of Fekete who will be playing for Australia A. Cameron Valente will join the Adelaide side in place of siddle who will be in Australian national side for Sydney test.
Mackenzie Harvey, Tom Cooper, cameron white, Sam Harper, Dan Christian, Mohammad Nabi, Beau Webstar, Kane Richardson, usman Khan Shinwari, Cameron Boyce, Jack wildermuth.
Jake Weatherald, Alex Carey, Colin Ingran, Cameron Valente, Jon Wells, Jake Lehmann,Matt Short, Michael Neser, Rashid Khan, Ben Laughlin, Billy Stanlake.
In the last five matches between these sides Adelaide won 4 and Melbourne just 1. Last year in semifinal Adelaide won a close encounter against them and went on to win the final.
Weather – The forecast is the ground will be free of rains. Temperature will hover around 30℃ so dew should not be a factor.
Ground – The ground will be new for both the teams. a reasonable scoring ground with slightly slow outfield. Scores of 150-60 would be competitive.
Toss Teams might choose batting as the pitch will be slow later on. But chasing should be the option for renegades. Adelaide would feel comfortable batting first as they have a great bowling line up.
Prediction Adelaide is the winner for tomorrow in our eyes. Renegades are not firing and Strikers are brimming in confidence. So Adelaide would be the favorite in 70/30 odd.
