Series: Big bash League 2018-19
Match: 26th match
Date: 10th January 2019,Thursday
Time: 7.15 PM Local Time
Venue: The Gabba, Brisbane
The halfway mark has been completed and Bigbash has been compact tournament in the halfway mark. The two teams that will meet in Gabba have won their last matches with ease. Showed some great display of cricket and we can expect a clash of midtable to be grand.
Aaron Finch’s return lasted just one match as he has some Australian national duty to do. But fortunately Marcus Harris is back for Renegades in place of Finch. Cameron White should return to the XI too. Renegades beat the table topper Hobart Hurricanes in the previous match and that is a great achievement as Hobart tasted the first loss against them. They restricted Hobart to a sub par total and chased with utmost disdain. Renegades are currently 5th at the table and a win here will take them to 3rd position.
Heat after suffering 3 consecutive losses got back in winning ways with two great wins. Both the matches were dominated by them. It looks like finally they have found the desired combination. McCullum is scoring runs, Lynn sanity has been showed and Brisbane will get him for the rest of the tournament too as he hasn’t been selected for National side. Heat bowlers have found rhythm it seems as they are getting wickets, checking the run flow. It will give the management and Captain some relief. But the seamers are not the best yet.
In the last five matches between these teams its a real surprise that Heat haven’t won a single match against Renegades. Whether batting first or second Renegades got the points. So Heat would be eager to break their streak.
Finch is gone for national duties and Harris comes back to the side. Cameron White should be back too. For Brisbane no changes have been made except Labuschagne has been rested.
Chriss Lynn, Max Bryant, Matt renshaw, Ben Cutting, Brendan Doggett, James Pattinson, Mitch Swepson, Brendon McCullum, Jimmy Peirson, Mujeeb Ur Rehman, Joe Burns.
Melbourne Renegades –
Tom Cooper, Mohammad Nabi, Dan Christian, Jack Wildermuth, Cameron Boyce, Kane Richardson, Sam Harper, Marcus Harris, Cameron White, McCkanzie Harvey,Usman Khan.
Weather- Clear skies with less humidity and a great atmosphere for pool parties is what we can expect. Chances for rains are very low.
Ground- It is a big ground but batting friendly track provides many thrillers. Big scores have been chased here many times. The boundaries are very long like MCG in front. 175 is average 1st innigs score here. Scoring below 180 is tough to defend.
Toss- As chasing is preferred here teams would take bowl first surely. Both the teams feel more comfortable in chasing so that will be the decision.
Prediction- Very hard to predict this evenly contested game. Both the teams are balanced and can falter anytime. But As Finch is gone we would give Brisbane the tag for winning this match.
